Amity-Consulting was developed by Chandler Hoffman, Psy.D. to assist individuals and families considering or going through divorce and family reorganization. Amity-Consulting was conceived with the intention to improve the circumstances of families going through divorce by offering consultation, psychotherapy, and mediation. Dr. Hoffman acts as the principle consultant and provides the direct services and educational trainings for our clients.
Dr. Hoffman is licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California (PSY16687) and has an expertise in families. Because of his many years of experience in the courts as a Family and Juvenile law mediator and evaluator, he understands how the courts work and advocates techniques that do not involve the court system due to the adversary and ineffective procedures available to families. He is a skilled mediator and acts as a divorce coach and a child specialist in the collaborative divorce process. His psychotherapy practice focuses on couples, families, children and adolescents. Dr. Hoffman leads groups for parents and children and acts as a coordinator for Kids Turn. He has trained family law and juvenile court mediators at San Francisco State and Stanford University.
Dr. Hoffman is a member of International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), the largest group of multidisciplinary collaborative professionals and the East Bay working group CPEB. He has formed a Co-Mediation team with Mediation Offices
